5 Rights conducts education, service and action projects to achieve our mission.

Education: We present 5 Rights + You, an introduction to the United Nations International Bill of Human Rights.
Service: We help our hungry, sick, homeless, and undereducated neighbors, and enable volunteers to grasp the local need for economic, social and cultural rights implementation.
Action: We ask volunteers to share 5 Rights + You, to support local human rights-based organizations, to buy from local and sustainable businesses, and to educate local representatives about their ability to recognize and implement the United Nations International Bill of Human Rights in their jurisdiction.

We respond to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s 1967 call, “to move from an era of civil (and political) rights, to an era of (all 5) human rights,” by helping to build the United States into a civil and political society, with economic, social and cultural rights, in which all humans recognize and work to implement a right to water, food, healthcare, housing, and education needs.
